The Old Kent Barn
You can’t help but love Harriet and Danny, they are just the nicest, sweetest couple and they got themselves married at the old Kent barn.
I saw Danny in the morning, where breakfast was being served, wonderful timing, before all the boys jumped head first into getting ready. Danny was rocking some of the fanciest wedding shoes I have seen for a long time.
Harriet was also in full swing when I arrived, with all her girls around her having make up done and hair attended to. Harriet looked stunning in her dress and everyone shed a tear to see her looking so wonderful. It made your heart melt.
The ceremony was outside in the 2 ½ acre gardens, with formal parterres, are planted with romantic roses, sweeping curved hedges and an informal lake garden with a lit fountain all set against a backdrop of mature trees. The weather had held, it was perfect. Dannys young son was on hand as best man to steady any last minute nerves and to handle the rings. He was so good, I can’t begin to tell you. The ceremony was sealed with a kiss and a rush of friends and family to congratulate the newly weds.
After dinner we headed into speeches. Danny got a slight ribbing off his best man and son, who will probably have enjoyed it nearly as much as dad. He handled reading a speech to a room of grown ups better than most adults and deservedly received the largest applause of the day.
I left the lovers on the dance floor, dancing the night away.
Here are a few from a wonderful day.
